When you get a ticket for a moving violation (speeding, running a red light...) or in an accident, the DMV adds points to your driver record. If you get 4 points within 12 months, 6 points in 24 months and 8 points in 36 months, the DMV will suspend your license.

The DMV will send you a letter suspending your license for 6 months. You should be given an opportunity to request a hearing. It is important that you ask for a hearing or call me and I will request a hearing for you.
