Your driver's license is a privilege, not a right. Unfortunately there are several reasons the DMV can revoke or suspend your license. These include:
Negligent Operator- where you have too many points due to tickets or accidents on your driving record.
Drug Addiction- typically this type of suspension occurred due to a notice to the DMV by a police officer or health care provider. If your license is initially suspended because of a drug addiction, a Medical Examination hearing can be requested.
Medical Examination - this type of suspension occurs for a mental or physical reason. An evaluation of this nature can be triggered by a health care provider, police officer, family member or member of the community.
APS - this suspension is due to a DUI arrest and/or conviction. For more information go to DUI.
